Anna Seiler's 1st triathlon EVER!

Kelly and I woke up at the crack of dawn (7:30am) to go watch Anna's first triathlon ever.
When we got there, Michael (the Dad) was already yelling orders at the younger kids (who were racing before Anna).

The black dog is Marley. The Brindle looking thing is Sancho and this is what happens every night at our House. Apparently, we have a bit of a shadow problem.

CX Morning ride with the ladies...

We met up this am at Heine Brothers, where Chrissy and Brooke decided to recover from last night shenanigans by hitting the Espresso bar...

So I guess we sort of expected to go out this am and find ourselves doing repeats of barriers, staircases and maybe a few no break laps. But little did we know we'd run into one of the world's top cross riders:

I really like the wooden frame. He totally creamed us on the sandpits! I think might follow suit with the no-pedals thing.

After our ride, I was starving as usual... that's when I was pleasantly surprised by Paul who had gone to the farmers market, bought local peaches and made me a peach pie along with a tall glass of iced coffee. I wonder what he's trying to get out of this.

CYCLOCROSS IS HERE!!!!

It's that time of year again... Yikes!!
Actually, I'm quite excited this year about the whole CX scene. My new Team (Rogue) is ultra fun and the girls are just flat out hilarious. We've been training for some time now out on the cross course, but always making sure that we're enjoying the bike and having a blast.
Last night was the first fast "Wednesday Testosterone" ride. It was insanely fast... or at least the "b" group in which my buddy/teammate/co-Ship Commander Brian Segal and I jumped in on. Apparently we went faster than the "a" group.
I was able to survive the first set of 3 laps, and the 1st lap of the second set... I was going to go for two laps, but then I saw that Segal had jumped ship; and being the good teammate that I am, I wasn't about to let him quit by himself!
In addition, I think I had one of those deep realization moments where I thought to myself "Why the F##k am I doing this? This is stupid fast"... and that's when I stopped.
In hindsight, stopping was a great idea cause some of our Rogue ladies were down at the course including Sheri, Brooke, Valerie (our newest teammate!) and Marcia. I should have brought some beer to make it the perfect evening. Oh well, there's always next week!
